reports & studies, as well as traditional information handed down
through generations over thousands of years in China. Chinese teas, and the benefits you derive from them depend greatly on the extent to which you choose to immerse yourself in them. Our teas can be enjoyed casually and as frequently or infrequently as you would like for pure taste and enjoyment, or can be made a deeper part of your daily lifestyle. Those wishing to gain the most benefit from the teas will increase their consumption to every day use and will find that they develop fulfilling appreciation as they do so. Polyphenols are antioxidant elements found in green tea. The benefits of consuming polyphenols are reputed by many researched medical studies as being cancer fighters. The testing, data, and reports are numerous. In addition to the health benefits of polyphenol consumption however, there is a psychological and emotional benefit that can be gained through the appreciation of teas. To a great extent, the tea industry in China is still greatly a “cottage industry” made up of countless small growers and producers. Regional climatic conditions, tea plant varietals, processing techniques and nuances that have been handed down from generation to generation all affect the final tea product produced. The Chinese Tea Culture and Industry is so vast, and has been a cottage industry for centuries without modern communications. This fact, along with the desire of the world to “fit” Chinese Tea and its Culture into marketable uniformity, has resulted in a great deal of misalignment, misinformation and lack of consensus in the Tea World on many tea facts, names, terminology, methodology. There is contradiction within China as well as within the rest of the Tea World. At Zhong Guo Cha, we consider it our work to openly absorb all the “Tea Knowledge” that we can, access it, and to fit it into our “Tea Puzzle” as best we can. We are then reporting to you our customer, what we have learned in the tea gardens and tea markets of China and Asia. We consider this a work in progress and “What we know so far”. Our work at Zhong Guo Cha starts at the tea gardens of the growers. Throughout the year we travel through China meeting with our suppliers, developing relationships, and selecting the best products they have to offer. We then bring those teas to our customers for their consumption and enjoyment. We select teas that we feel will bring our customers the greatest enjoyment and benefit. We are focused on a select group of customers that are interested making the health benefits of Chinese Teas part of their lives, and having access to some of the finest teas the world has to offer. |
